[Zack is hanging around the shop plaza, doing a little investigating to try and see if there's anything special about the place now. If the supposed portal is going to open there, he's curious to know if there's anything in the area that's changed. You might find him poking at the fountain, circling the sunken well, stopping and crouching down to check the ground beneath the snow sometimes. He's pretty focused on his work, though it probably looks strange.

[As Buffy is in the process of moving, she has been back and forth to some of the shops near the fountain throughout the day. Each return trip sees her carrying a few more boxes back in the direction of house forty-seven. And each non-return trip sees her noticing the guy poking around the fountain.]

Looking for something? [She takes a well-deserved break from being a cart-horse in order to fuel up on some village gossip.]

[Zack glances over at the voice, straightening up.]

Sort of. I'm wondering if that portal thing is really going to show up, and if they've set anything up beforehand to activate it.

[Hmm. It was reason enough to pique her interest, and so she joins him nearer the fountain with palms planted firmly on her hips.]

I guess there could be some kind of a symbol or enchantment already in place. Something like what happened with the giant tentacley thing showed up? [Of course, that had apparently been the doings of one of the fellow captives. Which--come to think of it--why couldn't it be the same with these letters? There was just as much chance for baddies to be inside the barrier as there was outside of it.]

Zack, right? I think Aerith's mentioned you once or twice. Or more. [Cue a vaguely sarcastic smile.]

[Mrs. Coulter is doing the exact same thing as Zack is - a portal appearing out of nowhere makes her very curious about the entire thing. If he decides to poke around somewhere hard-to-reach, he will find a golden monkey peering up at him.]

[Brook decided to go into town today, and upon leaving the grocery store with several pineapples in hand, he sees you by the fountain. Walking up and watching you for a moment, Zack, and then he'll try poking the fountain himself]
