[Zack is hanging around the shop plaza, doing a little investigating to try and see if there's anything special about the place now. If the supposed portal is going to open there, he's curious to know if there's anything in the area that's changed. You might find him poking at the fountain, circling the sunken well, stopping and crouching down to check the ground beneath the snow sometimes. He's pretty focused on his work, though it probably looks strange.

[Zack smiles faintly, amused, but not quite sharing his certainty.] I don't want her to stay if she doesn't want to be here, Spike.

She wants to be here, Zack. [She's just being stupid again. It's the Ancient City all over again, with her "saving the world" bravado and her skipping off without anybody else, that's what it is. Cloud's starting to hate it.]

[Zack's being pretty emo; Cloud's not used to being the chipper one between them, but with Jenova's disappearance he's pretty upbeat, all things considered. So he gives Zack a long calculatory look, trying to figure out what it is without asking.]

[Zack seems lost in thought for a long moment, until finally he shakes it off, stretching and doing a series of squats.] Well, whatever happens, we'll deal with it.

[In a flash of "mean kid-ness" Cloud debates kicking the back of his knees to make him fall.] I really don't think anyone should try it.

[That makes Zack pause in his squats, remaining crouched down.] ...Neither do I. I'm worried about where people will really end up.
