[Zack is hanging around the shop plaza, doing a little investigating to try and see if there's anything special about the place now. If the supposed portal is going to open there, he's curious to know if there's anything in the area that's changed. You might find him poking at the fountain, circling the sunken well, stopping and crouching down to check the ground beneath the snow sometimes. He's pretty focused on his work, though it probably looks strange.

[Zack isn't really pushing him away, either. The ball's in Cloud's park now.]

[Eventually though, Cloud does convince himself to back off. He places one last kiss to the side of Zack's neck before moving away and sinking down to sit on the couch, elbows on his knees and head in his hands. Damn.]

[....Sigh. Well, it's probably for the best, despite how he feels about the matter. He stays put, sliding down the wall to crouch against it, scuffing a hand through his hair.] So how soon is too soon, anyway?

A month probably counts as "too soon." [Cloud's voice is muffled since he doesn't bother lifting his head. A tiny voice asks him why he's bothering to punish them both like this, but another argues that he deserves it, even if Zack doesn't.

Or maybe he's just trying to prove something to himself.

Yeah, I figured. But we should probably set some kind of limits so we don't get too frustrated by all this.

[It's not like he can just skip off to Aerith when Cloud's being stingy.]

[He gestures weakly; he'd never had these sort of rules, since the odds of him getting a girlfriend were so low that his own mother would probably have resorted to pimping him out in a year or two.]

Be home before 11 or you're grounded. [It was pretty funny, looking at it like that.]

We could write them up and post a list on the wall. Whenever one of us breaks a rule we have to do a dare or something.
