[Zack is hanging around the shop plaza, doing a little investigating to try and see if there's anything special about the place now. If the supposed portal is going to open there, he's curious to know if there's anything in the area that's changed. You might find him poking at the fountain, circling the sunken well, stopping and crouching down to check the ground beneath the snow sometimes. He's pretty focused on his work, though it probably looks strange.

Really? I always got yelled at because people said I was being lazy; but I found that worked best. Then I could leave when som- [a pause] -I needed too! That and it left plenty of time to explore and play!

[Oh, that was subtle, Vash. Zack quirks a brow, but he's been a man on the run too. Asking questions doesn't always get answers.] Sounds like an exciting life, always on the move. It's nice to be free like that, isn't it?

[He's not use to being in a place that doesn't know anything about Vash the Stampede the humanoid typhoon! He's use to being blunt and people not believing him! Being tact is something he’s not use to.] It was. Meeting so many unique and interesting people. No two towns were ever the same so it was always a thrill to go somewhere new and wonder what kind of things I would see that day.

[No worries, he likes people who are up-front anyway. He's curious though, so-] Think you'll ever wanna settle down, stay in one place for a while?

[He stands with a finger on his cheek as he stares up at the sky thinking about it.] I dunno, I've been traveling for so long and it seems everytime I think about it - something comes up. [He smiles] But I think it would be nice. To stay with my friends and be close to them all the time. [That smile turns into a playful grin] And I guess now I have a good chance to practice!

That's true, Luceti's a great way to learn how to stay in one place for a while.

[He nods] I think I'll like it. Staying in once place. [He laughs as something dawns on him] And I'm sure my friend Meryl likes that I'm easier to keep track of.

Meryl... she works at the bar, right? With Guy.

Yeah, you know her? [So many people know Meryl!]

Sort of. More like I recognize her name because I go there now and then.

[goldenglasses]

I see! [He peers around once more] Sorry you haven't been able to find anything yet.

That's okay, I wasn't expecting much, anyway. Looks like we'll all have to wait and see.

[goldenglasses]

[He lets out a long sigh] I really don't know what to think about the whole thing. I just hope people get home safely... if it's a trick it'll be a pretty low blow.

Yeah, though I wouldn't put it past the people who run this place. They can be really annoying sometimes.

Yeah - I keep thinking this place is pretty great. Then remember it's not really natural that we're here.

Haha, I think that's the best but the most dangerous part of this place! It really becomes home before long.

Makes it hard to keep your guard up when you have to do it all the time.

I think that's a good thing, though, isn't it? You'll stress yourself out too much if you're always on your guard.

Oh I agree! I try to tell Meryl that but I think she likes being stressed. [sigh] Or maybe she just likes leturing me... but I think time would be better spent building a snowman or meeting new friends. [He says the last bit with a wink]

Haha, I agree! And I wouldn't say this to their faces, but I think girls are programmed to take things way too seriously sometimes.

Oh I agree. At least most girls I've met. Although; there is one. She only seemed to get serious over pudding.

[wingenvy]

Serious over pudding, really? That's pretty out there.

She was pretty strange. [He smiles almost wistfully] But she’s a good girl.

[He nods] She's waiting for me and Meryl back home. [Pause] I hope she's doing alright...
