[Zack is hanging around the shop plaza, doing a little investigating to try and see if there's anything special about the place now. If the supposed portal is going to open there, he's curious to know if there's anything in the area that's changed. You might find him poking at the fountain, circling the sunken well, stopping and crouching down to check the ground beneath the snow sometimes. He's pretty focused on his work, though it probably looks strange.

Just allow me to set down my things. [Placing the groceries on the ground away from the fountain. As he returns, he draws the sword kept in his cane (http://tinypic.com/r/k56fcy/6)] Yohohoho! I'm ready when you are!

Polka Remise! [Delivering a barrage of thrusts to the fountain now. If it weren't for the power limit, it would look as if he were suddenly using more than one sword. With it in place though, it's more obvious that Brook is just striking very quickly with the one]

[Zack's got mako enhancements, so he can see it pretty clearly, but even he's impressed by the speed. While Brook uses his own sword to weaken the fountain, he charges up a boost of his own energy and jumps, tugging the Buster sword free of his back and plunges the sword down on the statue from above. Between the two of them, the whole thing should crumble completely.]

[Sure enough, with their efforts the fountain falls apart. Brook watches it for a moment before sheathing his sword once again]

Yohohoho! Your strength is rather impressive! [Getting closer to the fountain. Is there anything in it? They might have to move some of this rubble out of the way]

[Zack puts away his sword again and lifts a boot to push aside a chunk of rock. There doesn't seem to be much aside from the wreckage, but searching might help some.] You're pretty strong yourself! Are you a fighter on your world?

[Thinking the same thing, he'll move some of the rocks out of the way] Indeed I am, when the situation calls for it - as it so often does! I'm assuming you are as well?

Yeah, I used to be in a private military. Makes for an exciting life, doesn't it?

That it does! Sometimes it can be a bit much for these old bones, but I know I would quickly tire of a duller lifestyle. [From the sound of his voice, he's obviously quite happy with his more exciting career choice]

Yohohoho! My death was quite some time ago. This has been my body for the last fifty years, I'm afraid!

I ate a Devil Fruit! Ah - [Remembering that those aren't common in other worlds] they are a special kind of fruit that can be found in my world. Each is unique, and eating one will give the user a special ability!

The fruit which I ate was called the Yomi Yomi no Mi. And when I died, it was this fruit that allowed me to be revived! Unfortunately, my soul had to find my body again, and due to the heavy fog in that area it took much longer than I would have liked. By the time I discovered it, my body had decayed to what you see before you!

That's quite the story. I guess you've had a long time to get used to being like that, huh? [He seems pretty well adapted to it, anyway.]

Oh yes! It's not nearly as frightening now as it was in the beginning. [Still not finding anything, but he's not searching all that hard anymore either]

[Zack's not looking much, either. It doesn't seem likely that there'll be anything to find.] That's really cool! So how many Devil Fruit are there?

[Accepting this himself, Brook plops his bony butt down on one of the larger pieces of the rubble]

Oh my, but I have no idea! Very many, to be certain. Three other members of my crew are Devil Fruit users in addition to me, and I've met several more just in the short time we've been traveling together!

My world can be kinda complicated. It's nice, though. Real pretty. At least, it is if you stay out of the big cities- mako reactors make things kinda smoggy.
