Just checking in to see if you've got the details for the Brave Vesperia job. Yuri's back, so he'll probably be taking over soon, but I figure I may as well handle this one first.

With Cloud trying to stake his claim on the Buster sword, and Zack needing some way to break the tension, it's probably about time to make a peace offering. First things first, though- he heads over to the weapon shop to visit a blacksmith. After that, he'll head to Cloud's apartment, Buster sword in hand.

Did you live in a big city on your world, then?

Yep! It's located on a small island, so the city's built on three levels to accomodate everyone.

Hey, that's kind of what my city's like! Not the island part, but Midgar had two levels to keep things nice and compact.

Oh, really? I don't think there are other cities like Sternbild in my world. [She simpers.] I think it's cool that we have multiple levels, but it becomes a problem if someone destroys the support columns for each of the stages. [Like what the Ourobots tried to do during the whole thing with Jake Martinez.]

Ah... yeah, I've heard of that kind of thing happening. [Though it's only supposed to happen in his future.] It makes life kind of risky for the people living in the lower levels.

Well, it'd be dangerous for anyone, don't you think?

Yeah, I guess that's true. I think the plates of the city are pretty tough to bring down, though, so it's pretty secure as far as I know.

Well, that's good. I don't know much about how Sternbild was built, myself, but I guess it's pretty safe. [She stares at her milkshake.] Though about two years ago, someone threatened to destroy the support columns if we didn't release one of their friends from prison. That was pretty scary.

Whoa, sounds like it! Were the authorities, or police, or whatever you've got over there able to stop it from happening?

Yeah, everything was all right in the end! Me and a few other friends of mine disabled the robots that were gonna destroy the pillars, and then two other friends defeated the mastermind behind the whole plan.

Ah! So you got to be a hero and save the town, then!

Of course! Being a Hero is my job back home!

Your job? Seriously?

Yep! I've been a Hero with HeroTV for about four years now. My Hero name is Dragon Kid! [Blink.] Ah, do they have TV where you're from?

Yeah, we've got TV, though I didn't watch too much of it. What's HeroTV?

It's a show where me and other Heroes with powers catch criminals and save civilians for points. Whoever gets the most points is the King or Queen of Heroes for the season!

It's, um, a reality TV show, kinda! We work together with Sternbild's Justice Bureau to cooperate with catching criminals that might not be as easy for the regular police to catch. Usually those criminals have NEXT powers, and since all of the Heroes on HeroTV have NEXT powers, it's usually best if we handle that stuff. But we handle some of the regular crimes, too.

[We're just. Gonna. Leave out the stuff about Maverick having staged pretty much all of the crimes on the show for the past twenty-five years.]

Oh wow, they have that kind of TV show? I've never heard of it. That's pretty cool- you get to be a hero and a TV star in one go!

Yup! I really like being on it, even if it isn't always easy. I don't know if other places in my world have similar shows, and so far I haven't heard of anything like it from other worlds.

So do you have some kind of special ability that helps you be a TV hero? Like magic or something?

Yep! All the Heroes on HeroTV have one. I can create lightning. [She holds out her now empty glass.] Um, could I get a refill, please...?

Coming right up! [And it does. Within a minute, even! He's getting better.] Lightning, huh? On my last military mission back home, I'd just gotten some lightning magic to play around with. It's pretty powerful stuff!

[She nods as she takes her second drink.]

Yeah, I have to be careful with using my powers, or else I'll seriously hurt someone. Usually when chasing after criminals, I just try to stun them enough so that I can arrest them.

Sounds like a good plan. It's not really justice if the criminals aren't serving their time, right? Injuries would mean a cushy hospital visit.
