Man, everything gets pretty crazy when these experiment-things happen, doesn't it? ....oh well.
Hey, out there! Anybody who actually knows how to fly- got any advice? How do you do it? Magic, wings, a bit of both? I'd really appreciate the help!
[Zack woke up different this morning- not to the same degree as nearly everyone else, it seems, but enough to notice pretty damn fast. Getting changed was an adventure of yelping, flailing, and finally getting himself a pair of scissors to do some surgery on his shirt- because he woke up with a pair of very different white wings stuck to one side of his back.
It's not a bad change, mind you- after dealing with Angeal and Genesis for as long as he did, he'd begun to envy their wings and ability to fly the way they did, even if they were horribly unfair about their expectations of people 8| So after giving it some thought, there was really only one thing to do:
Fly.
Thus, he will spend the majority of the day learning to flap his new wings, jumping off rooftops, baffling over how the hell Angeal and Genesis balanced themselves in the air with such one-sided wings.
...Oh, and faceplanting in the snow. He'll do a lot of that. Thank goodness for durable SOLDIER bones, eh?]

...That is until he shifts in the wind the wrong way and does a flailing tumble-roll into a snowbank.
[action]
A lot of people would probably either laugh or grow alarmed at something like that, but since this is Lightning, the only sound she makes is a quiet scoff before she starts walking over, snow crunching underfoot all the way. Hopefully he hasn't broken his neck or anything... though really most of her interest lies in what in the world is going on here. ]
[action]
Man... I really thought I had it that time!
[action]
Zack. What happened to your wings?
[action]
Hey, Lightning! ...Oh, these? You know how everyone's been changing the last few days? Looks like this is how I wound up affected by it.
[action]
But... should she even ask why it seems he loves himself, but with asymmetrical wings? There's the slightest bit of incredulity in her demeanor as she halts about a stride away, crossing her arms. ]
... Looks like they made a mistake.
[action]
[action]
[ Not asking! BUT ALSO NO FAIR, the only thing extraordinary about her mentor-like person was that he was actually capable of flustering her a little. ]
Probably something to do with magic, I'm guessing.
[action]
[He spent far too much time being utterly confused by the actions of the First Class SOLDIERS and hadn't been left much time to ponder their biology and whatnot.]
[action]
[ Whoa bro, don't you know science doesn't work like that? She looks away, trying to wrap her head around how science + one-sided wings might explain anything, but then just gives up the moment she hits how anti-matter principles as applied to feathers might help in the matter. The physics between their worlds are most likely different anyway. ]
[action]
You don't look any different. Did you manage to avoid getting affected by whatever's going on?
[action]
Apparently. Who knows how they even decide that sort of thing.
[action]
Lucky you! I'd hate to see you looking like anything besides your usual lovely self.
[action]
Thank you.
[ Totally. Without. Emotion. =| ]
I guess at least someone's enjoying this time around.
[action]
I figure, why mope around when you could make the most of it? I mean, just look! These wings could help me fly! Hasn't everybody wanted to fly at some point in their lives?
[action]
I think most people would be happy just learning to use a grav-con or something. Don't wings like that get in the way when you're not wanting to fly?
[ She eyes them carefully- heaven knows even the little Luceti wings are annoying enough on their own. Doctoring aside, how did Zack manage to get his shirt on, anyway? ]
[action]
[He might later, sure, but not for a while yet. He has to have 100% fun with flying first!
...Maybe when he starts shedding feathers everywhere.]
What's a grav-con, anyway?
[action]
AMP unit for controlling gravity. They're pretty popular in Cocoon's military... and with people who just really want to jump off something high.

Crashing into snowbanks, apparently. [ Humorless. Or... is she? In any case, she looks thoughtful as she studies the wings once more, considering the problem herself. ] So you were a soldier, right? Did they not teach you how to fall at all?
[action]
[action]
[ ... He was looking for a lecture like he was one of her subordinates, right? Just pretend to go along, man, and never mind he'd most likely outrank her anyway. She's totally on a roll now. ] And yeah, you also need to focus on figuring out how you're going to land-- before flinging yourself off things like some five year old off a high dive. One wrong move when you hit a gust of wind, and you'll be finding a lot more ways to break those things than you even imagined.
[action]
Well... you know... doing things without a plan is part of what makes it an adventure. It wouldn't be much fun if I thought about every little thing before acting. [Even if he takes a tumble every time he tries, he's been enjoying each and every roll through the snow. (Yes, even the ones where he bumped his head.) Broken wings? Not high on his list of concerns, especially considering how durable Angeal's were.]
