Man, everything gets pretty crazy when these experiment-things happen, doesn't it? ....oh well.

Hey, out there! Anybody who actually knows how to fly- got any advice? How do you do it? Magic, wings, a bit of both? I'd really appreciate the help!

[Zack woke up different this morning- not to the same degree as nearly everyone else, it seems, but enough to notice pretty damn fast. Getting changed was an adventure of yelping, flailing, and finally getting himself a pair of scissors to do some surgery on his shirt- because he woke up with a pair of very different white wings stuck to one side of his back.

It's not a bad change, mind you- after dealing with Angeal and Genesis for as long as he did, he'd begun to envy their wings and ability to fly the way they did, even if they were horribly unfair about their expectations of people 8| So after giving it some thought, there was really only one thing to do:

Fly.

Thus, he will spend the majority of the day learning to flap his new wings, jumping off rooftops, baffling over how the hell Angeal and Genesis balanced themselves in the air with such one-sided wings.

...Oh, and faceplanting in the snow. He'll do a lot of that. Thank goodness for durable SOLDIER bones, eh?]

[Zack accepts the help without protest, grinning and looking astonishingly healthy for someone who just divebombed off a two-story building.]

Probably not! Funny, it didn't look this hard when it was someone else doing the flying.

Well, that's 'cause they had a ton a practice, and I'm guessin' you're just startin' out. [a brief pause] Did you try flappin' 'em real hard?

Tried that! I think they're more the gliding-type, flapping a lot just tired me out.

[he scratches his chin] Why not try getting yourself off the ground first? Baby steps, an' all!

[ a pretty little noblewoman (who is actually a rather plain farm girl in disguise) rushes forward to help zack from one of those faceplanted-in-snow moments. she holds out a daintily gloved hand. ]

[Zack takes her hand, but since she's a handsomely dressed lady and he's a hefy SOLDIER, he pushes himself up more than he lets her pull him. He just jumped out the third story of a community building and he doesn't even have a scratch :D]

[ Oh, oh! Lightning's future!self apparently has some experience with huge feathery things on one side of the body, but... for right now, she's just standing there with a flat expression, wondering why she's watching Zack fling himself off something high and actually manage to fly at all like that. Will he land with any semblance of grace this time or not...? :|a ]

[Good question! Zack's wondering that himself. Once he feels ready, he launches off the roof of the closest house, angling himself so he glides neatly through the air, looking pretty successful for a moment.

...That is until he shifts in the wind the wrong way and does a flailing tumble-roll into a snowbank.

[ .... Well.

A lot of people would probably either laugh or grow alarmed at something like that, but since this is Lightning, the only sound she makes is a quiet scoff before she starts walking over, snow crunching underfoot all the way. Hopefully he hasn't broken his neck or anything... though really most of her interest lies in what in the world is going on here. ]

[She might be either relieved (or disappointed, depending 8D) to find that he hasn't broken his neck yet- he sits up out of the snow, dusting himself off and fluffing the wings a bit to air them out.]
