I gotta say, I'm not a big fan of this time of year. I miss the sun being out all the time! Lately the weather's been so gloomy, it's no fun to go outside.

[He leans back against the pillows, not wanting to be too far above her eye level.] I was thinking the new building that showed up, actually. Somebody's gotta test it out to make sure it's safe, right? And it's just next door, so we won't be far. If we stay on the first floor, Tammy can stay too, once I get another shelter up for her.

Are you volunteering me to be a guinea pig too? [She says it with a slight smile--she doubts there's anything wrong with the building.]

You wouldn't want me to live there all by my lonesome, would you?

Definitely not. I can't picture you living all by yourself, you'd get bored and drag in a roommate. [Or be sad puppy in snow and drag in Tammy, which would be...interesting in the apartments.]

...Are you still going to wait?

[Poor girl wouldn't fit through the doors, sadly. She's all growed up. It takes him a moment to figure out what Aerith's talking about, though.]

...Wait for Cloud, you mean?

Yeah. You two had a fight over it, didn't you? [No intuition needed, just seeing Cloud's face when he came in her room did it.]

[Yep, they did. And another fight later. And they've probably been having snippy little encounters on and off ever since. Zack looks a bit guilty.]

I haven't been very patient with him this time.

I'm not accusing you--it's a frustrating situation for everyone. Don't put on that face, okay? [She raises her hand, ruffling his hair a bit.] I just want to know if we move out...well, you know. Is that all it is? Are we surprising Cloud with this?

[Zack smiles at the ruffle, reaching up to fix his hair.] I was going to tell him once I talked to you and made sure it was okay. I guess he might be surprised no matter what happens, but... not much we can do about that.

[As for the waiting part, though...]

...I dunno yet. Considering how long you waited for me, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't give Cloud a chance.

[She didn't expect that to get brought up, but after a second she nods and then looks to the side, thinking. Would it help if they moved out? For the moment, anyway?]

...Mm, it's fine. It's just down the street, after all! And you can carry the heavy stuff.

Sometime soon, let's talk more about what we want to do once we get home.

[Zack watches her for a moment, gauging her reaction, then nods, standing up and doing a couple of squats.]

Alright, it's a deal! But what do you mean? Back on Gaia?

[ffff Zack and his squats. She sits back up as he moves away.]

Uh-huh! If we can go back. Although, Cloud mentioned staying here...did you want to do that? [Her smile is a tiny bit tense as she asks; she's really hoping that was Cloud's idea and not Zack's.]

[Whoa, definitely not. Zack glances back at her, halting in his squats, genuinely surprised.]

Wait, what? He wants to stay here? He never said anything like that!

[Unless she misinterpreted... maybe Cloud didn't explain? Or maybe he's missing something.]

[door #3, because Aerith didn't explain very well! At least, to her understanding of things. She shakes her head.]

No, no--I think he meant just us. You and me. [She even points at both Zack and herself as she says it. THE TWO WALKING DEAD PEOPLE, YAY.] It probably wasn't a plan so much as a possibility. I wouldn't worry about it.

Spike said he wouldn't go back without us. Is that what you mean? I mean, I don't really wanna go back and die or anything, so I guess I'm stuck here!

[...Yeah, she feels really stupid for mentioning it now; even if it wasn't his idea, how else was he going to respond? And she doesn't want to add anything else on, so--] I guess you're right. When should we move? I don't think it'll take too long to pack...

[He's cool with it, so no worries. Zack does a few more stretches, looking reluctant to move on to the next stage of the plan.] Probably better to get it over with, so I'm gonna start packing after I finish talking to Cloud. No point in waiting around for things to get more awkward, right?

[IDK Zack, you're talking to the girl who sometimes notices awkwardness and sometimes just barrels through it.]

Hmm...well, I don't think we need to rush. But I'll get started too. I'll talk to him after you. [~~or very likely lolhandwaving, because this connection is still being horrible. x.x~~]

[He's just not the type to beat around the bush.]

Nah, no rush. But no delaying, either.

[She plays with her hands in her lap for a bit before lying them flat again.] I think getting some distance might help. So let's get going. [She gets off the bed and heads toward the door--no delays, after all. She does pause though, looking at Zack.] Are you fine talking to him yourself?

Yeah, I'll be okay. It's probably better this way. [In case we fight, which is something he's not going to say. He doesn't want to worry her.]

[Well yeah except he just mentioned he wasn't being very patient with Cloud.] It'll keep things simpler. With both of us he might feel ganged-up on.

Yeah... he wouldn't like that much. And I don't want to start a fight with him or anything. [Though it's probably unavoidable.]

Just remember that and you won't. Less likely, anyway. [There's the chance he might, but...better to start him off with an encouraging note instead of adding onto his worries with her own.]

Yeah. ...Thanks Aerith. [And with that he smiles, stepping back over to her, touching his hands to hers, and leaning in to kiss her. He can't be the only one hurting in all of this.]
